We recently got 5 new Amptron 3748 motherboards to upgrade our systems here at work. 3 of the 5 computers have a serial mouse. After I installed the motherboards in 2 of the systems windows does not recognize the serial mouse on bootup. I checked to make sure the bios had the ports enabled, removed the mouse from device manager, check the pin1 alignment on the MB, tried a different adapter, and tried 3 different types of mouse. I'm not sure what else to do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Go back into the Bios and Disable the ps/2 mouse..then reboot and it should find the serial mice http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif

You can either disable the PS2 port in the BIOS or set it to automatic detection, which should automatically disable the ps2 and configure the serial mouse port on the machined that have them.

I thought I had tried to disable the PS2 mouse support in bios before but I went ahead and tried it again and that did not work either. I'm not sure what else to do here. Any more help is appreciated.

reinstall windows biodtl, thats the best way to deal with all these problems after a mb upgrade. otherwise you may keep finding these little "errors".
