Thanks bdog. On ftps can you tell if you need a ftp client prior to attempting to download and are the programs you mentioned and importtant part of downloading music. I notice there are or seems too be many more ftps than htps. Thanks

you shouldn't need an ftp client for most music sites. I have downloaded close to a hundred mp3 files using netscape. Some were from htttp sites, some from ftp, but either way, about half the mp3 links I have came across are no good.
