my buddie gave me a Dell computer w/ win XP home on it. Had 264 virus's, I had to reload OS. I erased the single partition & created 2 new partitions & installed XP pro. But now when I boot up it shows a duel boot menu w/ xp home as a secondary option. If you click on that it will not load - no files. Can I erase the duel boot menu screen so it boots straight to the XP pro? I need a sure fire fix as I returned the computer to my friend & don't want to take a chance of screwing it up & having to reload everything again.

Crapy, you can go into the system properties, and from there choose advanced. In there choose startup and recovery, and then uncheck "display startup options" That should do what you need.

is that going to prevent the duel boot screen from displaying or do I have to change the view to 0 seconds?

you can also remove the extra line from your boot.ini file.
