today i just received the suse DVD's from novell but it says its an evaluation. does this means its not a full version or not?.
any way i've now got suse 8.1/9.1
mandrake 10.1
fedora 2.0
but i dont know which one to pick... if the suse DVD's are full i'll just put that on.

If they’re not full, you can get a copy here. http://linuxiso.org/

Great Avitar...Tony...:)
I kinda like Knoppix...can run from a CD, only problem is it doesn't save anything...but, nothing permanent to your PC. (By save, I mean remember favorites, etc....you can still download and save files, etc.)
I've dabbled in Suse, too...not too bad.

I have those DVDs at home. Evaluation = 30 days.
EDIT: Note that it's 9.1 Professional

out of all of those I'd say mandrake, but give slackware a try too ;)

Ive installed the SUSE 9.1 off of mine, same DVD's as you I think. Ive been fairly successful figuring it out, not sure how it stacks up against the others though
I didnt see any mention of a 30 day limit, the only thing I can see is there is no support provided unless you pay your $ to buy the actual supported version. Mine has not been installed 30 days yet though so we will see.

LOL, there you go. Find out your favorite that way for sure.
BTW, I think we do have differant DVD's, checked mine and its pretty much SUSE only, no mandrake or anything, so I guess my comments on the trial thing are void.
:D
