I know this card is made so that it has a single-slot cooling solution, but is it normal for the temps with my case open to be 55 idle/ 70 load? These seem a little high, but I need to know if this is normal.

MadPistol 10-12-2004, 10:57 PM Good to hear it isn't overheating. Thanks a bunch. :t CrazyCrusher 10-16-2004, 02:07 AM Mid did you change your stock or is it the same one you got with your BFG? Midknyte 10-16-2004, 09:39 AM I got a PNY card, then I put in a copper heatsink from evga. I got it free. :D couple of degrees lower at idle. CrazyCrusher 10-16-2004, 10:58 AM mid what software are u using to overclock the card with? porsch1909 10-16-2004, 11:06 AM i thought nvidias ran cooler than ATI. my X800 pro idles at about 40. widget2003 10-17-2004, 09:18 AM i heard a while ago that GPU temps can reach 120C and still be ok?? is this true?? cause that would be amazing that they could reach those temps and still work :t Midknyte 10-18-2004, 01:10 AM Originally posted by CrazyCrusher mid what software are u using to overclock the card with? Just using coolbits 2.0. I used nvflash/nibitor to increase the 3d voltage to 1.4v. www.mvktech.net Midknyte 10-18-2004, 01:11 AM Originally posted by widget2003 i heard a while ago that GPU temps can reach 120C and still be ok?? is this true?? cause that would be amazing that they could reach those temps and still work :t 120 is the max listed in the properties, but i notice the card throttling way before that. CrazyCrusher 10-18-2004, 10:48 AM I downloaded both those programs, but I dont see a How to use em link on there, any details on how to use nvflash/nibitor? Midknyte 10-18-2004, 02:43 PM nvflash should have a readme. The two main ones to know are just a backup and a new flash. backup: nvflash -b XXXXX.rom new flash: nvflash XXXXX.rom see the attached readme: _________________________________________________ Here's a link on nibitor 1.7: http://www.mvktech.net/content/view/193/37 backup your bios (XXXX.rom) using nvflash first. then use nibitor to edit that bios. always keep a clean backup, just in case. You can choose different default gpu and ram speeds, but the main one would be voltage. to go to 1.4v for 3d, change the "green text" box to 1.4v. you are basically remapping the 1.3v setting to use 1.4v. CrazyCrusher 10-18-2004, 04:57 PM ok thats clear now, just one more Question for you :) did you flash and run your Video card on stock Heatsink/Fan? Midknyte 10-18-2004, 05:11 PM I waited until I got my copper one. If you decide to bump up the core, make sure to monitor your temps. there is also a setting to have the fan always on. I also have a pci blower fan mounted behind my GT. Cooling the back of the card seems to help too. SysOpt.com
