Mitsubishi 930SB

Or the cheaper version

Mitsubishi 93SB

I have two and wouldn't have anything else. 'The Nuts' with customer service second to none.

I think that costs too much for a .24dp, the samsung is better because of the .20

or am i wrong?

Right now I use a Viewsonic P95f+ at school and love it. At home bought a 997df over the summer, and its also an excelent monitor.

I like the viewsonic ultrabrite for gaming though.

the samsung is bright enough because there isn't much light in our new house...i have only a small lamp in my room. Its not that bright either.

It is a HUGE improvment over my 5 year old AOC which i got in 1999 (I think it was used too, but it was the best 17inch monitor of its time)

I'm running a 955df on one system and it is more than bright enough for my taste (if I want it to be) with the lights on or off. Long as your not expecting Trinitron levels of quality, you shouldn't be dissapointed in any of the offerings. Also note that different monitors, due to design, are measured differently. So just because it is .20 doesn't mean it is better than .24 - though the same holds well on the opposite end.

I really don't know anyone who has a decent 19" Mitsubishi, Samsung, or Viewsonic that has any complaints with them. I generally ignore customer reviews on Newegg and such as some posters there seem to post without purchasing a product fairly often and others confuse it for a forum and chase each other down just to insult everyone for making purchase X or to point out some miniscule point that is irrelevant.

Samsung, Mitsubishi, and Viewsonic are all good choices. Just look and play around with the color of some if you can at your local best buy, etc. and pick the one you like best or has a feature you need (though they all are about the same until you get into CRT's designed to empty your bank account).

This is one of the choices I give my clients if the others I offer are too expensive. It should be about half the price of the Mits 19” 930SB.
