Any thoughts on this budget x300 card vs the radeon 9600 pro?
It is a PCIe card. Can it work with an AGP slot? Sorry if this question is dumb. :)

Well, the X600 is basically a PCI-E version of the 9600 XT, so the X300 isn't as good as that. And no, you can't use a PCI-E card in an AGP slot :)

The x300 flat out sucks. I've seen 'em in the new HPs. We benched it just for laughs and it got a 1800 on 3dmark03. Not 05 now, 03.

The X700 is worthy of a look, but the X300/X600 are low end performers that should be avoided by gamers. For non-PCIe'ers the Radeon 9800 Pro is still probably just about the best bang for buck card at the moment
