PC Reading Floppy Drive

Ever since I installed a dos program on my computer for work my computer from time to time will read the floppy drive and make a grinding noise in the floppy for a few seconds. It is very annoying. I am also no longer using the dos program that started this problem. How do I remove the dos program and stop my pc from trying to read the floppy drive.

to remove the dos program, type deltree xxxx
where xxxx is the name of the directory from the c prompt.
