Better performance at higher detail??

when i play UT2004, i usually have the settings on low and when i play onslaught mode it runs at about 10-15 fps.:( so today i went and set everytto see what i was missing out on, and it ran at 15-20 fps.. i'm stumped as to why it would run better at a higher detail. any ideas??

Could be several things, experiment w/settings until you see the best combination for your system. I know on mine doom 3 ran just as well on high detail as it did on medium detail.

shouldn't a Ti4200 be able to run UT2004 with easy and at least 30fps????

i think there's something wrong with mine.. even at the lowest detail it still runs like that.

What is the rest of your system looking like?

as in specs??

Asus a7v266 mobo
AMD Duron 1.4ghz (shows up as an Athlon 1600+ for some reason)
512MB pc2100 RAM
120GB Western Digital 7200rpm
16xDVD/48x CDR combo drive

i think that's about all that would effect the gaming part of it..

ok well your ram is ok (can't go faster anyways) and well the CPU is the thing holding you back pretty much.
I had a look at the Ti4200's and they should be able to run UT2003 at over 100fps and well UT2004 shouldn't be much worse at all cause they both versions of the game are similar graphics wise.

I had a feeling it was my cpu.. i asked a while back about getting a higher card and was told to upgrade the cpu, i just havent got the $$ for that right now

I have a older system for testing kt7 w/ 1.4 gig AMD with a GF 4400 an it runs UT 2K4, fully cranked, no problems.

Did u get the latest patch v3323 ? 12.4 mb

Goto the UT web site, a links in ur UT shortcut folder, goto the forums, they have a tweak guid.
