Need more information, Give the specifics about the hardware in your system, and the operating system, when you say "it suddenly holds for a few seconds and then release itself", do you mean, that the system temporarally stops responding, but then returns to normal. Did you have this problem before you had the other problem serviced or is this a new problem? What was the other problem, and what was done to repair it?

I mean that the system stop responding and then return to normal.my last problem was connected to the motherboard and the onboard soundcard. I've replaced the motherboard to a BX MSI motherboard.I have celeron333 64mb sdram an ATI RAGE1 and a Diamond monster2 3dfx card. this problem started from the moment I got my computer back.I am using win98.
anyone knows why?

When does this happen, and how often, It doesn't sound like a memory problem, it could be that drivers for the old hardware you use to have are still present (or entries in the registry) and the operating system is looking for something that it can't find, because it no longer exhists on this computer, it times out and finally gives up and this is when you computer returns to normal, unless you feel comfortable editing the registry, I would take it back to the person that replaced the motherboard and have them remove all entries pertaining to the onboard sound and any other hardware that was replaced.
