Working on a HP Pavilion XE783, with a Lucent-cheetah 56k Fax/data modem. It has a 30GB HD that has been partition in to two 15GB partitions With Win98se on the first partition, Win-XP pro on the second partition. It boots just fine no problem going to Win-98 or Win-XP, Win-XP shows everything working fine.
But when you boot to Win98 and try to us the modem, it can't be found, used the drivers off the restore CD that came with the computer for the modem, and it still won’t work. Used the Add New Hardware Wizard Windows found nothing. What is it that I'm missing?
Thanks for the Help in Advance, G Ray88

Thanks for the help, I guess it helps to know what your asking for before you ask, I ran Aida32 found the modem was a PCTEL 789T-CL.
Went to Driverguide.com and found the drivers at Conexant.com, going to give it a try and see what happens. :t
