I just upgraded from AMD-K6 200Mhz w/96M of RAM to PIII 450 @100Mhz w/128M of DRAMM and have very little to show for it. Audio file editing (i.e. GoldWave) does not seem to run any faster. Another note, SiSoft Sandra Memory Benchmark shows memory running about 1/2 speed of a PII 400 @100Mhz w/128M of DRAMM. My computer guru is stumped. What gives? Any info would be gladly appreciated.
Note: Motherboard has onboard SCSI which has no drive connected yet, but I was told this shouldn't affect it. 3.9 Gb Maxtor IDE currently being used.
