MJCfromCT 10-02-2004, 10:44 AM Yup the hotfix is the cat 4.91 Bigjakkstaffa 10-02-2004, 11:03 AM Its highly reccomended for anyone with 256mb cards, as it fixes an issue with memory addressing, which seems to offer a significant boost in performance (over 1000 marks in 3dMark 05) --Jakk:t CrazyCrusher 10-02-2004, 02:32 PM ok, let me download it and see if it helps with anything if not ill just rollback. kankaroo 10-03-2004, 08:32 AM Is this 9.1 different to the Catalyst 4.9 drivers which I only recently installed. because when I installed them I was amazed at the performance increase I got in every 3d game I owned. I actually went through all my games, especially ones which lagged a little at high specs and they were much improved. Now no game lags or stutters. Pity I had to put up with my card's inferior drivers for the last 6 months or more but now my computer is flying along and Doom3 is is smooth as a babies *** :x So does this 9.1 give more increase for 256mb cards? Baddog 10-03-2004, 08:38 AM I wish these cat versions had better file names, I have downloaded so many I am having a hard time keeping up with them. Bigjakkstaffa 10-03-2004, 12:37 PM Originally posted by kankaroo So does this 9.1 give more increase for 256mb cards? Apparently so, particularly for the R420, not seen any numbers for the R9xxx cards though --Jakk:t Lvcoyote 10-05-2004, 12:00 AM Are you guys installing this right over the top of the existing drivers?? 21mb file seems like a whole driver package.....not just a hotfix....LOL. Lvcoyote bblqj78 10-07-2004, 07:06 AM Yep...it is a whole new driver and yes you can just install it over the top of the old ones with no problems. SysOpt.com
