I have a Gateway G6-400 256mb ram. I uninstalled my voodoo banshee card and changed settings to standard vga. Then I replaced my video card with a voodoo3 3000 and now my cpu won't turn on at all. When I put the banshee back in it will boot. I took the card back and exchanged it and the new card does the exact same thing......?

No boot at all? No BIOS?

Well the light on the front of my cpu flashes briefly. My guess was that the BIOS started it's check and since it checks the video card first it shut down. But there were no beeps...? Could my motherboard be bad?

Try plugging your old video card in. If it doesn't boot with the old one, you mayve a shocked your mother board.

I see that now. I missed that part of your main post. I guess there's always a chance that your computer doesn't like the card. It's too bad that 3DFX doesn't use the PCI for the 3000 like they do for the 2000. That way you could plug it into various slots instead of the sole AGP slot.
