WHAT KIND OF MOBO DO YOU HAVE? I have an AMD K6-2 350@392 (112x3.5) on an FIC 503+. I use (2) 16meg 60ns EDO RAM chips. Runs perfectly stable. I used Sandra to determine my memory transfer rate. The best memory performance for me is to put the memory in fast mode in the bios (as opposed to normal or turbo) and set the jumpers on the mobo for non-pc100 83MHz enhanced performance. Sandra was giving me 91 megs/sec and 95 megs/sec, respectively. Still, I was a little disappointed in those numbers, but that's the best I've been able to get without crashes or errors.

As for your last question, YES, moving to PC100 would definitely solve your problems, but if your cheap like me, make do with what you got. Also, make sure you have the latest bios for your mobo. AND, I assuming you have the 100MHz capable AMD K6-2 300, not the one designed for 66MHz operation. There were 2 you know, one of the reasons why I opted for the 350 so I wouldn't have to worry about that.

Is there a way to determine if my CPU can actually run at 100Mhz bus?? Before I switched over to the new motherboard I was running it on a 75Mhz bus. Both the new and old system board that I was using was from TekRam.

scourge~Do you have a link concerning the K6-2 and the 300 that doesn't support 100mhz fsb?

Just another work on the progress with my problem...

I changed the jumper configuration for the bus to run at 75Mhz instead of 100Mhz. The multiplier is 4. This is the original configuration that I used before I changed system boards. This has solved my problem. My system hasn't locked up since & I've done several things that were locking it up in the past. My 300 processor is obviously one of those that cannot handle the 100Mhz FSB.

Thanks for all the help!

Has anyone had any trouble or know of any problems running an AMD K6-2 300 on a 100Mhz bus (100x3) and using EDO (60ns) memory? I switched out motherboards and now I'm having problems. Before I used a bus speed of 75Mhz, same memory, and had no problems. Now, with the 100Mhz speed I'm getting occasional system lockups. Any ideas? Would moving to PC100 memory solve the problems?

Thanks
