Trying to get rich email functionality in Eudora Pro v4.1. I get the boxes where images are supposed to be, but no images. If I view the source of the emails, I get image specifications like <IMG alt="" border=0 height=100 src="cid:002301beb613$a09f9780$73fbd9cf@intelenet.net" width=490>, which doesn't tell me much about where it should be going to find the image. This happens from several different sources of email messages.

Any ideas on what is wrong? Eudora setup? Email generated incorrectly (doubtful)?

Its been awhile since I used Eudora but here it goes. In the setup menu there should be a listing for HTML and high graphic display or text only options. Try these and open new mail to see if there is a change. old may not work.

I didn't find a setup option, but all of the configuration in Tools:Options seems to be OK, although nothing mentions graphics or rich email directly.

I guess my big question is why the weird graphic specification I see in the Source. That doesn't point to any LAN drive or web site I can decipher.

I am using IE5, but I do not have the Use MS Viewer checked. I am not actually seeing the source code, but rather gray boxes instead of images. Styled text comes through fine. I can only view the source by right-clicking the message and choosing View Source.

Good try, but that wasn't it. I may have to resort to Eudora's virtual support.

Have you tried a different e-mail app. Maybe its your ISP. They may not support high graphic display.

or

You may be receiving a picture format that your system doesn't support.

or

there is a setting somewhere that needs to be checked or unchecked.

I went through this same problem with IE5 with web pages until I found setting in the options for show or not show pictures. Look around its got to be one in there somewhere, and its probably in the most obvious spot. Good luck I can't help you anymore than this, I don't know Eudora well enough.

That sounds reasonable, except others in our company receive it fine, and we are all using Earthlink as our email provider. So, I doubt that that is the problem.

I have sent email to Eudora about it, although they are pretty slow about responding, and not always capable of resolving the problems.
