SOKMEONE HELP PLZ!!!
i assume when you're talking about disks, you mean the emergency disks you made when you installed the os? the win95 emergency disk is kinda hokey since it doesn't do much and doesn't support a cdrom. just use the win98 emergency disk to install the win95 cd.

There's something wrong with your 95 boot disk.
You can try using the 98 boot disk and just loading 95 but the one time i tried this it didn't work for me.
Format c:
Insert 98 boot disk restart select with cdrom support. Then change to your cdrom drive(With the 95 cd in it) and run setup.
I've found 98 a lot more relible than 95 though.

I understand your distain for Win98, but here is my 2 cents:
There are a number of things you can do that make Win98 look and feel just like Win95. You can start by turning off all the "Craptive Desktop" and "View as Webpage" options. Next you can go to "View/Folder Options" and choose 'Classic Windows Desktop' -(or something like that) and you can set to view all folders with the same options. That way you will think it's 95 except for the logo, and you will get a more stable and capable operating system.
If you really want to go all the way check this site www.98lite.net (http://www.98lite.net) and learn how to tame Windows98.
Personally I use the OEM Win95b and Win95c, but mainly because I have no licence for Win98 and I have long since ironed out the bugs in my Win95. If I had to use Win95A (the retail version) I would probably go out tomorrow and buy Win98 - the original Win95 was that bad, IMHO.

1: You have a bad W95 sys disk.
2: You cannot install W95 when you have booted with a W98 sys disk. Wrong command.com version.
Solution: You must get a good W95 sys disk. http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Thats why i couldn't get it to work http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
You can also install dos and Cd-rom support and go from there.
I had the 95a version reformat about once a week http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

DOS won't work either if you have OEM W95. The W95 setup will see a previously installed OS and terminate.

BBA~What versions of W95 have you loaded w/W98 boot floppy? The only versions I have ever tried this with is A(Retail/Upg.) B,C(OEM).
I've seen ver A error out from the FAT32 prob before but even with FAT16 I can't remember ever getting that to work. Of course, I haven't tried that combo too often.
The OEM versions have never loaded for me if I boot with any OS other than W95. The install always terminates due to an OS already installed error. I don't have much exp w/ retail W95, mostly OEM. Is it a method of installation or something else that I am missing?
Win95 will install fine under Win98 system boot. I do it all the time with boot disk I have made from Win98.
Your problem sounds like your running FAT32 in Win98 and trying to load an old version of Win95 that doesn't support FAT32.
You will have to fdisk the drive to change it back to FAT16, this is done by selecting not to enable large disk support when you run fdisk.
