Hi all

just put a modem in my old 486. Need driver. It is a Texas Instruments RK v.34 +fax\voice internal.

Any leads on this?
What is this modem about? Had it laying around in my bag of parts, replaced the 14400 modem that was in 486. To setup, i just used the new hardware standard 28800 driver. It works, but...should I get the correct driver?

Thanks

If it works with the generic drivers, who cares? You could look at the modem and find the FCC ID# and research the mfg that way. You could also (maybe) tell by getting your ATi responses.

One of my best modems was a TI chipset made by askey. www.askey.com (http://www.askey.com)

If you are running WIN95 and run modem diagnostics, see if it pops up with any info regarding ask.

Hey Susan,
WOW

After spending the better part of the last two hours, on FCC ID lookup sites, etc, I took a jump to your recommended link at Askey.com.....got my modem driver, downloaded, installed like a dream....
Many thanks for your wonderful advice http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif
