I been having a lot of problems with my computer lately, I believe I got a while back a virus, because all the acting up, led me believe that. But I reformatted the Hard Drive after that, upgrade my ram to 128mb, change the SCSI card to fit BUZ from Iomega, and now after all that work and money spend, my PII 300mhz, is not working. Sometimes It will boot up, sometimes it won't, I reinstalled WIN98, Anti-virus, and I don't know what to do. PLease I am very frustrated already, and my scanner Relisys, won't work neither. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Help ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Other than not turning on sometimes, are there any other problems? Any error messages?

Look in Control panel/System/Devices and see if there are any exclamations.

You also mentioned the pc "acting up" caused you to believe you had a virus. What exactly did it do?

Also...have you installed any new hardware recently?

I'm guessing here. If you physically remove the SCSI devices and controller, (assuming you have an IDE controller,) and also remove them from Device Manager, does the PC still act-up?

What kind of message your comp is telling you? What kind of error is happening?

About the Acting Up part, it starting happening a while back, my computer would freeze, I wouldn't be able to turn off the computer, when I finally did turn it off, it would not came back up again, the after taking it for services, I had a major crash, resulting major loss of files and applications, thta's why I believe it was a virus.

I recently installed the SCSI that comes if the BUZ video capture from Iomega.

Right now the computer isn't giving any sign of life. Don't know what to do.

I didn't remove them from the device manager, but in the device manager doesn't shows that anything is wrong.

Heres my 2 cents you may need to remove the lines in your Config.sys and autoexec.bat that say you have a SCSI device for your old card because the system is looking for this card and its not there. Probably a conflicting setup during boot acossiated with these startup files.
