Ok, so you want to play doom 3...lets start at that...

If you live in the USA, check out www.newegg.com They are a great site for computer parts.

In order to play doom 3 at a decent detail, you should have a CPU with at least a 2GHz speed, 512-1GB of RAM, and a video card with 128mb of vram.

What radeon card do you have? The TI4200 might not be able to play the game.

Also what is "the raid mobo"?

How much are you looking to spend, for Doom 3 a AMD64 with the Nvidia 6800 is the way to go.

Ok, the 9600 will play doom 3, but at very low settings

Your processor if i've read it correctly is an Athlon XP 3000+? If so that will be fine. As for the RAM, what speed is it? PC2100? PC3200? For the price of RAM now, 1 gig of PC3200 will be great for doom 3.

As for your motherboard, it has the KT400 chipset.. If you want to keep your CPU, i'd recommend getting an Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe or Abit NF7-S (not S2!) As you can use them and get dual channel out of your memory and have a nice nforce2 chipset.

For a video card, the 9600xt I would say is the minimum, but it all depends on how much money you want to spend.

The 9600pro is minimum, but buying that card to only play Doom makes it a very expensive game. Spend a bit more now and go with the 9800pro or better and then it will atleast take you through the next generation.

The ram thing 2100,3200 etc.
I think it was 2200 or 2100.
