I recently bought a box of junk from a friend. In it was a modem that I tried and the machine found a "HSP MODEM" I can't find the maker of this modem to get a driver. The FCC's site cannot find it because it only has a fcc compliant sticker on it. On one sticker it reads "800043821 Made in Taiwan". The chipset has a sticker that reads "k56flex thchnology itu upgradable". It is isa. Any help would be greatly appreciated.... P.S. I pulled off the sticker on the chipset and it is a PC-Tel. But, I still can't figure out what driver to use.

If it has a PcTel chipset, go to their site for help on locating the manufacturer.

Almost hate to admit this...

Have used AOL install disk to auto-detect an unidentified modem successfully.

Possibly the only good usage I've gotten from one!!

All PCTel HSP modems use the same driver regardless of mfg. Check out www.zoltrix.com/modem.htm (http://www.zoltrix.com/modem.htm) for the 7.55 and up (newer) drivers.
