Cds that i bought and own, copied into Media Player -will not play back nor record as they have a protected status. I was at the wmp help site and they said if you add new hardware that can screw up your liscencing rights. New mainboard, cpu, ram, video, audio; yah just a few changes.
Why the frell do i need a liscence agreement for something i bought brand new at a store?
Anyway, it said to "fix the problem" (yah, right) re-record the cd into wmp. But it won't let me copy brand new music onto the comp.
So my question is how do i get my "protected" music back? Can i un-protect it somehow? Is there a file converter program that can get past that? Should i un-install and re-install the frelling wmp? Can i copy the music .wma files into a newer version of wmp and lose that protected tag? Those are all the ideas i can think of. I can't live without music!
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
