After installing this thing I rebooted and my moniter would go into standby mode. I tried to go into safe mode, but when given the choice I was unable to enter #3. I hit f5 and then all I get is c:\ prompt. Any good ideas?
How do I get into safe mode so that I can change my display properties?
Im stuck!

Can you access the #5 Command Prompt Only?
If so, then at the C: prompt type exactly:
win /d:m
This command line switch will boot you into Safe Mode.
~~Edit : closer look at your post. This should work if you are at the C: prompt, no matter how you got there.

probably what you forgot to do was switch to the standard vga driver before you yanked out your old video card. if you did, please say so, cuz i'm interested in buying that card too.

I don't think booting into safe mode will help you. I have the same problem every time i reinstall the voodoo3 drivers or install new ones. All i do is let the computer start up windows keep switching the screen on and off because when i swith it on i can see the picture for a few seconds. Try doing this and go to display properities select a resolution and colour that you want then go to advanced and set the refresh rate to adapter default instead of optimal.
Hope this helps.

While in safe mode, I changed my display properties to 16 colors, then set my display drivers to standerd vga. In the device manager I removed the 3DFX Vodoo display adapter that I had previously installed. I rebooted, installed the drivers again and its been smooth sailing ever since. This is a great card but I do wish it had been easier
to install.

Its not the cards fault, the rule of the thumb for installing video cards is switch to VGA + 16color before installing. So if it worked easily after that then it probably is an incredibly easy card to install.

Your right Dash...
Someitmes when WE screw up there's always something or someone else who was at fault.
I confess, I got in a hurry and botched the install. But I promise not to do it again.....NOT!!!
I'm just glad we have SysOpt. to help us when we do screw up.
Thanks!
