im having troubles starting b17 flying fortress. i was wondering if you lot could put me in the right direction. the problem is the game keeps crashing to the desktop when i try and load it. ive installed the game and the two patches that are avaliable. ive tried running the game in compatiabilty mode under windows 98/me but that doesnt work. i think it mite be my graphic card drivers as ive recently got a Raedon 9800 pro do you think i mite have to lower version of the drivers in order to play the game?

thanks

I recently had the same problem with B-17 II. Try running a registry cleaner after removing the program in Add/Remove in Control Panel. Then reinstall the game. It might be your drivers, but I'd try a reinstall first. I run the game with graphics setting maxed out to quality using a 6800 GT and 1024 KB PC 3200, so your system looks capable of handling it. Also make sure you don't have any programs running in the background while flying. Good luck.

I should pay more attention... Alphabet soup...

Windows is a memory pig: I have several services disabled and it still gobbles up 256 MB of system memory.

I agree, having a gig certainly makes xp run around a bit faster...noticably faster than my laptop w/only 256 mb.

I read when this game first came out that you should create a LARGE pagefile.

I believe you were to create one 2 1/2 times your system memory.
