i,m going to build another computer soon and have all the drives, but their a sick beige color. must be easy to change right? never done any modding before, i just last year put together a new computer useing a thermaltake xaser case , looks cool with a blue light inside

I would try this...

Painting the drives might be tricky, get one little fleck of paint inside and it might be toast...stealthing the drives might work though.

You can always just take the faceplate off and paint that independent of the drive.

...that is, if you have a drive with a removable faceplate...my cd-rw drive is unfortunately one without this feature...so therefore painting it would be a risk.

Then bunch up some toilet paper, tape it over the open slot when the drive is open and paint away. We do this at work all the time and noone has ever had a problem.

hmm sounds interesting...i'll just have to find a nice silver to match my thermaltake case and i'll be set...but then again i think they frown upon painting inside a college dorm. :)
