I've always worked on Socket 7 cpus, never a Pentium II. My friend wants me to upgrade his Pentium II 233 to a PII-400. To take out the current cpu do I simply lift the cpu/heatsink assembly straight up and out? Are there any tricks to this?
I then presume I'll have to get a SECC2 fan/heatsink and attach it to the PII-400 with clips (probably) and then push the cpu into the slot? Are there any support brackets involved in this?
Can anyone direct me to a web site that outlines this procedure?
Thanks.

The PCMech site is great but only shows how to install a classic Pentium II. I presume the installation of a SECC2 is quite different as it has no "outer casing".
Thanks.
