i recently modded my case for a side fan input and accidently put it really low, and in just the right place that i had to cut some plastic off the fan otherwise it would have taken a few capacitors off my video card.

My concern is that when the fan is at full blast, it kicks out 40+ cfm, and that makes me wonder if that could cause damage to the video card fan, like by over spinning it from the airflow??

No, it wont hurt your vid card - If anything it will help if you're trying to O/C it.

The only thing I would be concerned with is with it being that low, especially if you keep it on the floor, is the amount of extra dust its going to suck into your box. If it gets bad, or if you havent already added a filter, you might want to think about putting one in.

yeah i don't think it would matter, either and help more. i once had a decent size desk fan sitting on the floor blowing into my open case. those **** athlons get hot. i'm sure it would have been fine without the fan, but i wanted it cooler. and it dropped 5+ degrees. looked dumb though haha.
