Looks like we lost the original thread of "Please Help".
Update:
IT'S WORKING!! The TNT2 Ultra IS WORKING!!
Man oh man, what a relief. I am so happy *sniff*
Before installing the TNT2, I deleted that offending msoe.dll, and redownloaded/installed Outlook Express. That seemed to do the trick, email is working again too.
I removed most of the registry entries to the failed Matrox installation. Two entries I left there (because I was unsure) were under HKM\Enum\PCI\Ven1028...etc.\Bus...etc.
Then, as Bleeding Edge suggested, I left the Standard VGA adapter in Display Adapters. I shut down, took out the old card and put in the Xentor. Upon reboot, Win98 auto built it's driver db and sure enough, MaxiGamer was in DM.
Now to see how those demo games play.
The 128mg stick of PC100 is in now as well.
Thanks to all of you who responded, here and through email. Your help and support kept me going.
Special thanks to CMonster and Roy. You are always there when/if I really need the help.

ps. Don't forget to catch the movie Sunday "The Pirates of Silicon Valley" a story about Steve Jobs & Gilly Bates, er Bill Gates.
