cant say yet, if hl2 is bad im happy that doom3 came out first but i dont think hl2 will be bad (i hope)

It really doesnt bother me which will be out first, but which will be the most enjoyable game. Put it this way, they would have to seriously screw up HL2 to make it less interesting than Doom 3

DOOM III has great graphics, they even look better than HL2. BUT HL2 isn't dark as night and the engine looks totally sweet. I can't wait for the sequle to a great game. I would have rather seen HL2 first, unless it ment that it wouldn't be as good of a game if it came out sooner.



DOOM II wasn't that great.....But I still play Half life like every day.

doom3 is boring. Sure Great graphics but the game play simply sucked.
Lets just hope that they use the Engine to create some good games.

agree about doom 3 being boring. . . I rushed out to get Doom 3 when I found out my local Best Buy had it. I did enjoy playing it. And it was very easy on the eyes. . .lots of eye candy in there. But I beat it on "marine" mode in about 9 or 10 days and I really haven't felt the need to play it again since then. Games like Half-life, Mafia, Max Payne, FarCry, Battlefield 1942 / Vietnam. . .These are the types of games that kept me coming back for more.

The last SP ID tit;e was Quake II. I played it once.
I have played HL and it's offspring 2-3 times.

That said, I expect HL2 to be better.

HL 2 is a different game entirely..and i 'm sure it must use a differnt game engine..along with its own style of graphics....

I guess its only natural to wqnt to compare one to the other....but mostly what I hear is just that some people like one over the other...and not so much as comparisons...

I am getting D3 in a couple of days and even though I have not played it...I am much more into when HL 2 comes out ..as the all the screenie movies I have seen show me that this game is going to be just amazing. The environments will be much more diverse and interesting and the AI will be much better and more on the level of a good action horror adventure.

It never makes any difference to me which game comes out first as they'll be out when they are out...
Does this make a diffference as to how much you enjoy or don't enjoy each game..? I think not..

If you had gotten everything you wanted just when you wanted it growing up...would you be much happier? Again..it seems at best very relative..probably not....but hinders on how spoiled one is and if he or she has some patience..which by worldly philososphies is still a virtue.

If a game maker does a decent enough job of trying to convey what the intent is and does it beautifully or well..then I am satisfied...they are not gods..just men and women like you and me...only a bit more talented for the most part.;)

I was disappointed in doom 3 from the first time I played it. I expected more. I am not putting much hope on HL 2 that way if it rules I will be pleasantly surprised.

I still play doom, I just kill everything on the way in for some practice. I kill humans and monsters with equal contempt. No predjudice here. :)
