I don't know if there was a thread already on this .but Gamespy/Filepalnet is offering the release and play of tribes vengence for online play....
You have to go to the site and fill out a general form( name address.ectt.) and then download...
I am doding it now and unfornately Fileplanet has a waiting list9 always) and the DL will take about 2 hours plus....
Sure wish things were a bit faster...even with a high speed internet connection it still is slow for this site.....
I am not as into this as much as some who like the halo type games..but I have seen the trailers for it and it is good ..gotten rave reviews by most game sites....;)
Been playing it fer sereral days now, It's only in beta with some bugs. You need to do a little tweaking an it'll run great, if u've played UT it has the same tweaks. Goto the Games > Program > bin folder an change the .ini files read only attributes ( uncheck them ) or u wont be able to save ur preferances. If u got problems with the install, in the email file planet sends u with ur key there's a forum u can goto, there may be some answers to any ? u have.

Thanks for the info...Tweb..
I was beginning to wonder if I was supposed to have the game or something as i immediately opened it and they asked for a key, then just now upon opening my email i get the key in a email from them.....
Of course the game I remembered is not out yet....but I believe when alls said and done it will be at least as popular as UT 2004 is..
Since i really only played the second one not too much..and never finished it..is it worth a second go? Alot of people seemed to like it alot.;)

i had it, installed it, played it for 10 minutes and uninstalled it straight away
worst game i player for a looooong time
All of the tribes games .... ie T1 T2 an now TV ..... take more work then other games ... ie DOOM ( ALL ) UT etc .... This game is built on SKILL not just getting out there an killing thing, All of Tribes game r real 3D meaning ur not subject to remaning on the ground, I've played DOOM, UT an others an all are lacking. IMO, being a TRUE 3D game. Remember TV is in beta an much much more will be in the final release. As I said Trbes game takes skill an is not just based on killing thing. If u wanna just get into the game an play, FORGET IT, there's many thing to lean an unfortunitly TV has no manual as of yet, I had to play around off line to figure out how some of it works an ask on line something I couldn't figure out, this is 'cause the developers changed the keyboard layout an added new functions.

Well i just got done playing it and I am impressed enough to say nothing that would change my earlier opinion..
The Demo beta of mutiplayer loaded and ran like a dream on 1024 X768 resolution on high details...( and I have my card ..FX5900 on 4x for both settings )
The specs are fairly high for what they want gamers to have to play this...and the use of DX9c installed plus....
I can only give a fair judgement as like I said I am not as much into these type of games..but it looked real good and was alot of fun....the users are many in the connect up panel and no problems there either...
Since the real game will have many more maps and things ..it would be a good buy for many and alot of good time...
The graphics and the way the inanimate objects like weapons and other utilities worked well with little glitches I could see....
Yes the developers when I watched the movie trailer talked about the effort that went into this game...and the advice and suggestions from gamers of which they tried theri best to incorporate those things they enjoy...
I will probably play this from time to time..just for kicks...as do i UT 2004 also...
4 1/2 out of five star for my rating...;)

It plays just fine with DirectX9.0b. I didn't install 9.0c cause i didn't see a big need in that.
