I started with a cheap $70 Enermax case. I've been using it for months now and eventually, I grew tired of the way it looked. I wanted BLACK. I knew this was going to be easy, as these cases are constructed in a very simple way.

The front of the case consists of layers:

1. A transparent acrylic plastic (tinted blue)
2. Thin metal strips
3. Generic beige plastic

So what I did was remove the thin metal strip, paint the next layer black and re-attach the acrylic plastic. The following pics do the rest of the talking for me :)

I forgot to mention, I had some beige DVD/CDRW bezels laying around so I painted those too. I'm quite happy with the outcome, I think its a fresh change... all I need to do now is find my floppy LED.

looks great! spray cans or spray gun?

beige cd/cdrw/dvdrom fronts look dumb
in my silver/ case.

one day when i have some time...

Very nicely done, looks nice...i painted my case last year, although i did the interior...went from grey to red...painting seems to be one of those inexpensive things that really makes a difference.

I used the last thing I had laying around to paint my case... Tremclad Gloss Rust Paint

well, it should be resistant to rusting if
a watercooling system starts to leak:eek:

Looks great. I like the treatment on the corners there. Just what is that though?:t

Could you elaborate...? I'm not sure what you mean...

Thanks :)

This actually isnt my first re-paint, I've painted 2 other cases before this one. I've mastered that part of modding... now I have to figure out cutting, because that window is awful.

Cutting isnt so bad. Just make sure you got a nice Dremel tool and plenty of these:

Those are what I use, and I go through them pretty quick too. Grinding down a thin piece of metal (the side of your case) just tears through these guys pretty quickly, but they get the job done nicely.

I use only 3 different sized stones for all different curves, angles and corners - that’s all I need to get mostly anything done.

I'd like to start with a rounded rectangle. The acrylic window behind the current cut-out is very large. I just need to figure out something for mounthing that centre fan, because there are no mounts in the window, just the metal.

Mine mounts right through the acrylic.. maybe yours isnt as thick as mine though... I would think they would be the same thickness though.

This is the case I'm using now:

It mounts right through the acrylic.

Very nice case... maybe I'll invest in a new window.. I'm just trying to keep things free at the moment.

BTW I have some new pics of mine from earlier today...

Thanks, kinda got sick of it now though. I'm doing another project with a different case right now so after thats done this case wont really be getting much use.

And yeah... dont you wish there was no such thing as dust?!?! lol That would actually be pretty awesome.

A world wihout dust would be great... ecspecially because I have some brutal indoor alergies.

dunno if your area is as humid as Toronto
in summer but that probably can't help
the allergies much...

btw: what bass is that i see?
(i used to play bass too- when i had time:rolleyes: )

It's been a pretty dry summer... my alergies are only starting now ...

And the bass is 4-string Charvette, by Charvell... I don't play it much... I prefer electric and acoustic guitar

I'm getting a case wrap, possibly some car stickers for the front, and I'll be cutting the window out so its bigger. Lastly I may do a top window mod.

the top window sounds cool- never seen
up there before.
