Direct compatable sound card

I have a pentium 3 PC. I have yamaha DS-XG version 4.05.9218 sound card I think. I have direct x 6.0. I recently installed a game called V-rally. It does not run. I called the help line and they took me through the direct x diagnostics page in my computer and said that I needed a direct x 6.0 compatable sound driver. Where can I get that??? can anyone help??

you can normally only get sound drivers directly from the manufacturer. try go to yamaha's site and download older/newer drivers and contact their tech support to let them know about the problem -- they may have a workaround.

you might have to reinstall directx after you get a driver that works.
