I'm looking for a (made by) ATI Radeon 7000 or 7500 w/ 32MB RAM. I'll take one with 64MB but to me it's not worth any more $$$. Preferably, it should be in the original box and still have the CD and manual.

This card is no longer available at any local retailers or RELIABLE online stores.

Basically, I need a video card for the new server I'm building for my office. It is a database and file server. It will be conected to a cheap monitor which will almost always be off unless I'm working on it (which is rare).

I would like a very inexpensive but STABLE card b/c graphics is obviously not important, but I do not want to buy a no-name card at CompUSA or Office Max for $9.99 after mail-in-rebate, that will crash my server. ATI cards have always worked for me in all applications and have never given me any problems.

If anybody has a new or working used card or knows of a better but inexpensive option. Please let me know. I will be using the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum motherboard with the Athlon64 3500+ CPU.

How come one of the radeon 7000's off newegg won't work?

The truth is I preferred one made by ATI because I've always used their cards with no problems. Since this is a server, I don't want a graphics card crashing the machine.

The actual ATI card was not available from NewEgg. But I did happen to find one of only two left in stock at eBuyer for $30 w/ free shipping so I ordered it there. :D

As a matter of fact, I would have gladly purchased one at my local CompUSA for their lists price of $29.99 but they never have it in stock.

I think that this is the oldest and earliest 1.5V card that ATI made. I believe that all of their previous cards with less memory and older GPUs were 3V. Because it was discontinued, it was getting harder and harder to find.

Truly, I don't think a video card for a server should cost more than 30 bucks, so I'm happy I found a stable one from a reliable vendor.

papa, I have a 32 mb rage 128 by ati that I could part with for $25 (shipped). Great card that I've used on and off for years and it's never caused a bit of problem. It's a 3.3v card, so you need to have a universal agp slot - no notches - if that works for you. PM me!

ps this guide explains the agp thing if anyone needs it http://www.ati.com/support/faq/agpchart.html

My new MOBO only accepts 1.5V. I already have a rage 128 which is chugging along fine in my kids' computer which I would have swapped out.

Lucklily I found a Radeon 7000 at eBuyer for 30 bucks shipped.

Thanx guys.
