Hi all.

Not really a big poster on Sysopt anymore, especially not in this area, but I have a question I'd like to pitch to you all.

I am trying to find out how much a copy of Visual Studio.NET Academic Edition would cost nowadays. Some have said it's in the area of £700(!), others have said it's a lot cheaper.

A web search hasn't really yeilded any solid results so, I was hoping someone here would be in the know, and able to provide me with a concrete answer.

Thanks in advance

£700 is .net Pro (amazon), there is a "standard" version about for £80 but I can garuntee you'll be missing out on some tools and the MSDN access for that.

Can you use the MSDN:AA at all? At my uni we get XP along with a load of tools for free and we can continue to use them past our degree :)
