unreal tournament trouble

for some reason UT looks up and i have to restart my system, there is no warning, the game doesnt lag before it locks up, any ideas why?

What version of UT, I have UT 2k4 with latest patch an have no problem running game full blast @ 1024x768 @ 85 hz ( not the highest my monitor can go but the highest refresh rate )

If u have UT 2k4/3 goto the link in ur start menu 4 UT, goto the help forum, they have a tweak section.

IIRC UT '99 may have problems with SP2

.....does your screen go blank or does it just lock up completely - had same problem with refresh rate - monitor supported it, but the older video card in on of the machines didn't - and it was a Radeon - you might try different or updated drivers if available also? Worked for me on another game.

updated drivers, nothing, but what i did do is change it so it runs under windows 2000 in the compatibility menu, works fine now
