I just bought a Visioneer 6100 USB Scanner. When I'm about 95% through installing the driver software, I get an error message that says "The shell 32.DLL file is linked to missing exportSHLWAPI.DLL:SHRegGetUSAvalueA".

Can anyone tell me what's going on and how I can fix this?

What type of Machine are you trying to install this on, What Operating System are you using?

Win98, Celeron 300A @450.

I personally DE-clock when installing software and such...it seems to lessen the problems....Sorry but I have not other "pearls of wisdom" for you on your problem ;(

I had problems installing a USB scanner on my Compaq Laptop, the operating system comes preinstalled and saved to the D drive, you don't get a copy on CD, this version is a proprietary version of Win98 and I could not get the scanner to install, after hours on the phone with "Tech Support" for both Compaq and "Logitech" (it was a Logitech USB PageScan) I gave up, it would work fine on my home made 450a but not on the Laptop
