I am currently doing some work for my neighbor and am wondering which wireless card to buy for their PC.

They have this for their DSL.

Best Buy is a couple blocks away so I would be looking for something I could buy there. I am not worried about the security portion of it since I know most of that. The varieties do tend to confuse me. Do I have to use the Actiontec products for this GateWay?

Also to make things more fun they have a Mac in the mix. As long as the protocols are the same?

Thanks

Orinocco cards are always a good bet for compatibilty

While the Orinoco is a good card, it cost almost $100.

If long distance is not a big concern any 802.11b/g that cost around $30 will do.

As my grandad always said

Pay cheap , pay twice
Its true indeed

Although after my recent purchases Im starting to wonder if it holds true in the pc market!!!

See my post over on tech forum regarding removeable drive bays!

It all depends on the occasion.

This one: “You can not teach Old Dog new tricks”.

Or this One: “Never too old to learn”.:t

This One: “Distance makes the heart grow fonder”.:D

Or This One: “Out of Sight out of Mind”.:p

There is always a proverb to choose for the occasion, if they conflict, who cares. ;)

Prices Structure at USA markets more a function of Marketing rather than actual Technological Value.

Actiontec makes some of their own products as well. If you think a Linksys or other vendors card will not work, you can match the computer card to the DSL Gateway.
