Strange problem

my fathers computer is P200mmx with vx board
and he got the strangest problem.
at first when he turns on the computer the board beeped with no stop like there r some card or somthing that is not connected well
I double checked the cards and the memory everything is well connected. the strange problem is that sense then the computer works but after sometime no matter windows or not the computer falls down and start doing those beep sounds again. I coudlnt find the reason. Anyone?

Oddly enough this is a common problem with people who smoke near their machine not implying he or you do but. I found the only way to eliviate this problem was to take everything out and if necessry clean the contacts (a new pencil eraser workers fine) on all the cards. and reinsert one at a time until all are in with no hardware failure.
