Hi all, not really a big poster in this area of sysopt, but I had a question. As you can tell by the title, I want to know how Google sorts the search results from first to last when you search for something. Ive heard that its a result of well coded Header Tags. But Ive noticed that sometimes its just because of the URL and other things, like actual content of the site.

Now the reason Im asking this is becuse a buddy of mine is a a REALLY good flash designer (he has a side business and this is the link, all the 3D and flash he did himself www.mojocosmetics.us ). Anyways, my boss wants a new website ( www.slbprint.com ) so I reccomended my buddy to do it. He called my friend and talked to hiim for a little while, and my friend gave him a quote too. But know my boss says today "Before I go through w/a new website, I need to find a way to get more traffic on my site before I can warrant paying out the nose for a new site." Totally understandable, however, now my friend is going to be waiting to hear from my boss sooooooo, I just want some info, to give my boss so I can get this project moving along. Thanks for any help.

Right on, informative to say the least. However, not too useful, as far as upping our hits. Theres gotta be some sure fire way to get our site some more action, beides paying for adds.

the only way to drum up garunteed traffic to your site is by advertising, not online (who really looks at ads or pop-ups now-a-days?), not by email (SPAM!) but by bussiness cards, magazine ads...

Websites IMHO no longer are something you "stubble" across by searching, they are promoted by word of mouth and other sites recommending yours...
