I'd much rather have the big companies targeting the software developers than targeting me.

Is KAZAA still the virus and hacker infested pesthole that it used to be?

Kazaa has a lot of viruses (virii?) floating around but proportionate to the maount of files it has. Well, that and the fact that Kazaa tends to be a relatively inexperienced file sharer's network. Kazaa hackers? Please, that sort of talk might scare your every day computer user, but I think the majority of us know a little better. Sure, we've all downloaded people's AIM buddy lists and assumed their identity before or waded through their cookies and favorites folders looking for other personal info, but thats not real hacking. Thats just being a PITA. The only reason I ever tell people to avoid Kazaa is because I know thats a high profile place to get tagged with a copyright violation. But judging my the emails I've been getting from my ISP, so is BitTorrent, so I guess you aren't safe anywhere right now.

I stopped using kazza after I got sick and tired of having to make 10+ attempts to get what I actually wanted.
Plus, the number of sods that cancel your downloads from them seemed to be growing hugely.
I also realy hated that they threatened whoever made kazza lite with a lawsuit, how else was one able to avoid being spied upon with all the crud that kazza is packed with?

Ares seems to be quite good, nice and small, bugger all spy ware and a nice looking interface.
