I have been working on this pc and everything was ok with it now.

I wanted to know what do you think may have happen.

I tired to log on to this pc last night and it normally would have prompted me for a log in password but it didn't. It went straight to the desktop. So I lwent to usernames/password access on control panel. I looked at the username on the account and it was the customer family name with access as the administrator group, administrator in the administrator group and guest with no administrator group access.

I changed the customer family name username account to access on the account called standard user access group.

I also made a check mark that every user must have a password to log on to this pc.

The strange this is I only had one password the whole time I have been using this pc and it's been very easy to remember plus I wrote it down. Anyway, I can not get on this pc, some reason the password won't let me log on. I never used any other password to this pc. I have tried this password uppercase/lowercase & initital caps....nothing works...Help!

Have you tired logging in safe mode?

yes, I tried safe mode, but it would not work.

I went on and used my Goback and thought I would go back in the password & users section and create another administrator account and create another password.

I than went back and deleted the account that seem to be controlled by someone else.

I can now go in and log off the machine ok. I can log on ok too.

I'm just hoping it's not some kind of virus or something. I do have this pc hooked up to DSL & connected to my laptop.

Thanks for your reply

While ago had similar exp. I made some changes like you and turned out my password was changed to null (return key). When you are prompted for the password try hitting the return key. You may have to create a new password then.
