Stevo 06-09-1999, 12:02 AM I also think that you have to plug the floppy into a connector after the cross over twisted point in the cable Greg5150 06-09-1999, 12:27 AM This is a weird problem. I am assembling a machine yesterday with the following componets: Pent. II (400), Seattle se440bx-2 Motherboard, 128 Mb DRAM, 4 GB HDD, Floppy, 32x CD-ROM, and video card. All this stuff is brand new. Anyway I was going to install win95, but on boot-up I get an error message "wrong drive type A" , also the floppy light stays on ALL THE TIME. I checked all cables and connections. Checked all pins. Checked that the BIOS was right. Then I put the processor in another machine which I knew was working fine, same problem again. Then replaced original processor in that machine and problem ramained. What am I doing wrong here? Roy 06-09-1999, 01:12 AM Floppy cable, starting at the motherboard: Mobo ----- B: --x-- A: Floppy LED stays on if connector is upside down. philipg 06-09-1999, 10:47 AM Roy is right this is a common error when people connect the Floppy cable to the drive the red line must face away from the power connector on most floppy drives. Greg5150 06-11-1999, 12:10 AM Thanks everyone. Who ever heard of the red line going away from the power? It fixed the problem. Thanks again. SysOpt.com
