Problem;

Installing a marine Life Program,required higher than 256 color,switched display to High Color and restarted. First Windows screen showed OK. When finally opened screen showed only colored horizontal lines. Several restarts tried,no success.

System;

AST Adventure 200,Part 503280-401,ast 4N color Monitor.
Thanks

It's entirely possible your video card or your monitor doesn't support high color, or you have the wrong drivers for your video.

Have gone through the suggestions. Have deleted programthat was being installed,chaged back to 16 colors,and reduced desktop size from 899 x 600.Removed the wallpaper.
On a normal boot;

Windows screen shows normal,the screen comes up saying,
Cannot find device maybe needed to run windows or app.
Registry or systems.ini refers to device but device no longer exists.
Try uninstall app or reinstal app.
C:\PROGRA`1\CYBERM`3\CYBERNKRN.VXD
Do not nderstand this.

Press key to continue and screen goes to blue with rolling black bars.

Boot to safe mode in screen is OK,safe mode opens;
Registry problem,option Resore from ackup and restart.Still goes to rolling bars as above.
Thanks in advance ChuckMley

Boot to safe mode. Run Regedit.
Search for cybernkrn.vxd. Delete the key.

Static vxd, maybe...

Did you uninstall or just delete? If you uninstalled, the prog didn't remove all reg additions.

edit system.ini file.. and search for the cybernkrn.vxd and semi-colon that line out.. if it is not.. there.. then run regedit.. and search for that static vxd and delete it. when found.

Everybodies suggestion is great but you would also run sysedit and check your autoexec.bat and config.sys files looks like its loading here.
