Okay, I need to get a modular PSU - they're cool as hell, which would you take... I think both of these are pretty awesome and I'm having such a hard time deciding, any suggestions???
PowerRight™ Smoke 500W Modular Power Supply (http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/psu-49.html)
ModRight X-Connect 500W Ultra Modular (http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/psu-98.html)
I want to place the order by Sunday afternoon so I can get it on my day off this coming week :p Which one do I want?!?! lol

I really want to get this one here:

And go with a blue or orange fan inside the PSU and then the red sleeves on the cables and red molex connectors like these:

Would that be ugly though??

If you are in love with the look I would get a sparkle/forton 530 and mod it with glow in the dark fans and a plexi cover. that way you can be certain of the performance and still get the look.
Given the choice, I will always go for preformance over looks..Its just the way I am.
If you must choose between the two got the one with the highest wattage (multiply the volts X amps for each line then add them up) I am assuming that neither has voltage adjustment pots for overclocking (if either does go with that one). If all else is equal get the heaviest one.
Enjoy!

Hrmm, FrozenCPU has the Fortron 530W Power Supply (http://www.frozencpu.com/cgi-bin/frozencpu/psu-34.html?id=L8jCdEgx) and they will mod just about everything for you, minus that UV reactive plexi cover. Maybe I should just get that instead lol.

Depending on the price I would just buy the fans myself (and bend the plexi cover), I have the Fortron 530 and the exhaust fan is slimmer than standard, so if you go looking for one look for a thin one. BTW, the Sparkle 530 is the same supply but cheaper.
My motto: Why buy when you can make?
Yes I am cheap...but not easy.
Enjoy!

Yeah that one is cheaper on Newegg, but I need to go for some looks too, even though I really would like to go the cheaper way. I dont want to mod it myself.

I don't know that any thing is wrong with no-name supplies, but I do know that there are a lot of cheap power supplies out there that will not supply their advertised power. It your money, do you feel lucky? If you could find an independent evaluation of the supplies I think it would help. The fortron/sparkle is one of a hand full that will exceed their advertised specifications ( they also have voltage adjustment pots on at least 2 of the three rails). You could gample with the Powerright, then if it doesn't work well you could buy a $74 sparkle and transferr most of the powerright glow in the dark parts (You might have to do some filing on the plexi or metal parts , or they might just fit because both supplies should have the same outside dimensions, you would have to know how to solder, or at least get a crimping tool to modify the power dongles, but neither is difficult), and you would probably still come out money ahead. OR the Powerright may be a great supply that I just haven't heard of.
Life's a gamble, you get up each morning and you takes your chances.
Enjoy!
(Edit) I have never hooked up a cold cathod but I would expect it to just plug into the power supply. Yep, thats what it says in the ad.

Okay, I'm getting the Fortron 530W from FrozenCPU and gonna have them mod it for me before they send it out.
If I where to mod it myself it would end up costing just about the same amount after buying all the mods seperate from this other site and paying for shipping. After all that and the trouble of modding it myself I'll just pay them to do it for like 5 dollars more.

Yeah, I will, np. I called them up, they said they make it look just like their PowerRight PSU's, so it should look good, just without the plexi cover thing.

It looks awesome under the UV *light* not "lights" :(
They sent my two UV tubes, so I put on along the top and one along the bottom... figures - one of them was broken, so I need to get it returned for a replacement now. It still looks really good, but not as good, because only the underside of all the cables glow, and not the top, since there is no UV light on the top right now :( After I get it back though Ill post a pic in the mod section.. I need to get some better fans too
