Gonna be hard to find a 1.6ns company. What ns mem does ATI XT PE use? or the regular XT use? bob05 08-21-2004, 11:27 PM Now that's what I'm talking about! :D Someone Stupid 08-22-2004, 05:28 AM Gotta recoup the cost for those massive chips somehow if your buying them, and 2.0 ns is easily available and much cheaper (comparitively) than 1.6 ns, which is also a low yield deal still. While not a smart move in some ways, it was one that seems forced by the market. stalkersoftware 08-22-2004, 06:15 AM Originally posted by ShadeZeRO Wow, looks like nvidia did something smart...for once ;) Good idea too, limiting Oc'ing by having 2.0ns ram. Do you know that 2,0ns translates to 500mhz ddr = 500x2= 1000mzh!!! And then they overclok it to 1.1GHZ! The GT comes with 2ns ram. Which run at the default speed of 1000mhz or 1GHZ, So wont it be better to simply get a GT and overclock it to 1.1GHZ? LOL :t Midknyte 08-22-2004, 07:46 AM I got my GT to run at 1190-1200. Gonna be hard to find a 1.6ns company. What ns mem does ATI XT PE use? or the regular XT use? I've yet to see a "regular" XT on the market yet, at least not in AGP. All the x800xt PE's I've come across, including my retail BBA x800xt PE, uses 1.6ns DDR3, which is no doubt making it so hard to get these cards out to the market. RamonGTP 08-25-2004, 11:17 PM Well I guess this could explain some of the reports of artifacting on games like Doom3 even with stock clocked cards. the xenon 08-26-2004, 12:15 AM im pretty sure evga's ultras are 1.6 ns ram, its on there website so should be true Bigjakkstaffa 08-26-2004, 05:17 AM A lot of the hardcore overclocker types are a bit "wee wee'd" off about only getting 2.0ns memory. Still, its not like 2.0ns is particulalrly slower --Jakk:t SysOpt.com
