Thank You a Bill & BBA for your response.
OS-Compaq Presario 4808 - 32MB Ram
File System 32 Bit - Virtual Mem 32 Bit
Hard Drive 4.01 GB
Sound Card - ES1887 Plug & Play Audio Drive
Graphics Card - S3Inc. Trio 64V2
Intel 82371AB PCI to USB Univ. Host
UPGRADED - Memory to 64MB
UPGRADED - Sound Card to Soundblaster Live
UPGRADED - Graphics to Viper 550 PCI
PROBLEM: Getting the System to recognize the
Joystick port on the Soundblaster Card.
When I tried to enter and calibrate the
Thrustmaster Fighter X Joystick, screen locks
up and message that SB Joystick Port does not
exist.
Is there any possible solutions with changing
certain items in Device Manager.
PROBLEM2: Original Sound and Graphics Card
are Soldered to Motherboard. Removal of these
items will cancel my warranty.
Hope I gave you enough info this time to be of some value to solving my problem.

Look for BIOS settings or jumpers on your motherboard for a way to disable the onboard sound/joystick. Make sure drivers from the original sound card are gone from Device Manager. See if the joystick drivers in DM are proprietary or not. Get rid of them too if necessary. Likewise, make sure the Live card installed its own joystick drivers. Might have seen the old one still there and skipped over its own.

I agree with Ziz. I have integrated sound and video on one of my computers and they are disabled via the BIOS while older versions of that computer used jumpers. If they are not disabled, they will wreak havoc http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

With the system saying that the joystick does not exist, it looks like the new sound card is not being recognised. This, in turn, leads me to believe the system is still using the integrated sound. The screen locking up when trying to set up the joystick could mean that the system is trying to activate the second sound card, this would lock up everything fast. Two cards sharing the same memory etc. doesn't work.
