I am trying to resurrect an old PC for my daughter. It has a TMC AI5VG+-2.00 MB. I have no documentation and have been unable to find anything on the web. The board currently has one 64MB 72-pin SIMM. I'd like to find out if I need to match memory (i.e. add only another 64MB SIMM) or can I add any size SIMM. Can I combine SIMM and DIMM? Finally, there is a password for access to the BIOS which I don't have. How can I reset the password on this beast? Thank you in advance - I know this is probably reaching back there a bit!

google found some articles:

you cannot run single simms. I'm not sure how yours is working, but pentiums required simms in pairs.
you shouldn't run simms and dimms together as a general rule. there might be some particular configuration, but it would be faster to run only sdram anyways. PC66 for sure, but PC100 may work also.
check www.crucial.com and run their configurator.
the easiest way to reset the bios password is to pop out the cmos battery for a while.

Thank you Midknyte. I had seen the Toms Hardware one, but not the other. I don't know why, but it seems to work fine with the single SIMM. However, if I change memory, I'll do it in pairs. Thanks for the info and the rapid response!

you can also look up specs by the chipset.

PC100 should be fine on these.
