Hello,

We have a problem..a new system won't detect the live! in win98...but when putting it into an older one it does...

the system is : asus 440bx p2b-f motherboard, creative 5x dvd kit (with decoder interface card), ati expert 98' 8 meg agp, p3-450, 128 ram, maxtor 8.4 gig HD, caseedge case w/ powersupply, dimoand supra max 56k internal pci..

We tried setting up the irq for port #2 manually to 5 (only 5 and 9 are free) but that did not work..and we do not know waht else to do in the bios... http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

Can you sent your BIOS to set ALL IRQ's automatically?

I had problems getting everything to work on mine when I was setting the IRQ's manually. As soon as I set them to AUTO, all is fine.

They were set to automatic but it won't work, so we tried to do it manually. Both did not work http://www.sysopt.com/forum/frown.gif

When you say Port number 2, what do you mean?
If your port number 2 is the PCI slot next to an AGP slot, it will never work, as they share the same resources physically. You have to use a passive device in that port or no AGP.

You are the second person Ive seen with the P2B and DXR and Live, and that is a bad combo, but can be resolved by PCI slot spacing and resource re-assignment. It's more difficult if you have to make a NIC work also.
