I build AMD systems. A friend of mine just had a PII-233 system built for him a few months ago. Now, of course, he wants to upgrade his processor. Being a AMD-only builder I have never even touched a PII. While looking at a vendor's site they sell PIIs and they sell PIIs with SECC2 (single edge contact cartridge 2). Should this matter to me in trying to upgrade his processor? Do I have to make sure I get the right package type?

Thanks.

Everything you'll ever want to know about Pentiums, can be found at developer.intel.com/design/processor/ (http://developer.intel.com/design/processor/)

Both SECC and C2 use the same slot. http://developer.intel.com/design/pentiumii/packtech/index.htm
