thanks for the info. That sorted that, I am thinking about the 2.8E well I mostly have my mind made up on this, just got to figure out what boards are good for a good price.

I'd wait for a better stepping heat wise for the prescott unless I was going to be doing primarily the work that it excells at enough to notice - encoding video/audio is about it over the old core and it will take awhile for SSE3 to be used (some still don't use SSE2 extensions). You have to run it a tad faster than the northwood for it to be as fast due to the longer pipeline. That being said, the prescott's are overclocking rather well, just the power they chew up and the heat may put you off on it.

Ye I did here they run pretty hot and I do OC all my system to the max if I can the case I have now has plenty of Vacs and Fans loud little bugger, thanks for the info. The new system I’m building is primarily for gaming only little internet and some DJing.

And what would be a good Heatsink and Fan for this Prescott a Quite one but good for cooling? dont mean to be a bother with all the Q's but im a little out of touch with some of the new hardware.

this is the board I orderd for now

Thermalright just released a 120mm cooler for the Prescott, you may want to look into that.

When they get in stock they generally go pretty quick from what I've been reading. I can see why, a premade 120mm heatsink from Thermalright that works bloody well.
